MFA's Museum Store
Stewarding one of the most impressive fine art collections in the world, spanning millennium, is an expensive task. Driving revenue for the MFA operating budget is what Ellen, head buyer at the Museum Store, takes seriously.
She tasked Maritime Tribes with bringing MFA's collections to textile products for the gift shop.
We know textile
From Japanese wood block prints to The Printers of Provincetown, we've brought both visiting and permanent collections to the gift shop.
Aprons, tote bags and canvas placemats are all impeccably reproduced for the MFA's very discerning clientele. We have full print / cut / sew capabilities at our factory here in Fall River, Massachusetts, birthplace of American textile manufacturing.
Japanese Artist, 19th Century
If you head to the MFA Boston, you'll be able to see the original cotton textile piece, originally used in a Kimono.
From this piece Maritime Tribes made aprons, dishtowels, tote bags, key chains, note cards and placemats.
Award winning museum store
Congratulations to Ellen and her incredible team for winning the Museum Store Assoication's Best Store Web Presence. Truly a feat to be proud of!
